Hypnotist, Neonatal Respiratory Therapist
Lucia, founder of By Your Leave, is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Hypnobirthing Childbirth Educator, and a Certified Doula. Lucia Massey has 35 years of hospital experience. During her time employed in hospitals she worked with premature infants, respiratory illnesses and breastfeeding mothers.
She is very passionate about working with mothers and babies. While working at hospitals, she discovered there was a large need for continuous support for new families. It is her mission to make sure parents are informed and aware of all choices, she wants them to feel loved and supported through pregnancy, birth and beyond.
Her love for traveling and helping people lead her to travel the world as a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in premature infants. She met her husband in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. After coming to live in Georgia, her husbands home state where her husband was born and raised. They have one son who is attending college in Georgia. She is fluent in Spanish and hopes to reach out to the increasing Hispanic population.
